In the nineties, New York City was famous as the epicentre of music, art, culture and nightlife, and its high crime rate. Today it is one of the safest US cities and the headquarters of numerous corporations and IT startups. It has become just another large, commercial city that is home to 359,000 millionaires and 60 billionaires. When people tell me that they dream of seeing New York, I don't know how to explain that that city is long gone.
